Farhan Saeed-led Luv Di Saun set for Eidul Azha release

Pakistani cinema is preparing for a busy Eidul Azha season as a new film titled Luv Di Saun, starring Farhan Saeed and Mamya Shajaffar, is set to release in theatres during the festive holidays.

The film’s first teaser was released on Wednesday, offering audiences a glimpse of what appears to be an action-heavy romantic drama set against the backdrop of old Lahore. According to the production team, the story is far from a traditional love narrative, describing it as “explosive” and filled with chaos, difficult choices, and emotional consequences.

The teaser features Farhan Saeed’s character narrating the intensity of his journey, stating that his love story is not one of transformation but destruction. He describes the film as a blend of love and conflict, where emotional stakes are high and survival seems uncertain. The visuals highlight action sequences including rooftop chases, a confrontation with a wrestler, and fast-paced motorcycle scenes through narrow city streets.

Alongside the intense action, the teaser also hints at moments of light humour, including a scene where the protagonist’s dramatic reaction causes an antagonist to hesitate, adding brief comic relief to the otherwise serious tone.

The film has been written and directed by Imran Malik and features a cast that includes Mehrunnisa Iqbal, Rana Ejaz, Babar Ali, and Tabrez Khan alongside the lead actors.

Luv Di Saun will face competition at the box office during Eid from several other Pakistani releases. These include the thriller Psycho, starring Meera and Shaan Shahid, as well as the horror film Zombied, featuring Fahad Mustafa and Mehwish Hayat. The simultaneous releases are expected to make this Eid one of the most competitive seasons for Pakistani cinema in recent years.
